SATURDAY SUMMER PURSUIT (Race 1) - Last Saturday we had 13 boats enter, leaving none to race on centre course he..he..he. Anyhow, Spindrift continues her winning streak with another win, with Zardos coming in 2nd and Longbow 3rd. Some other boats either flew a spinnaker in this non extras series or started on the wrong side of the start mark which explains all the DSQ's and DNS's. Anyhow, it was a well attended race with some good racing in easy conditions even mixing it with a fleet of Sydney 38's competing in Skandia races passing through our course.Click here for full results.

GEELONG TEAMS - RBYC have plenty of boats going down south to compete in the Skandia Geelong Week regatta this weekend. An ideal day for the start of the first race of the new Aggregate Series with warning signal at 1355hrs.

SARAH BLANCK FUNDRAISER
RBYC and SS&CBC are jointly supporting Sarah Blanck in her Olympic campaign for the Laser Radial class. She is currently the only Victorian selected for the Australian Olympic team and although some funding is made available to team members from Yachting Australia it is nowhere near enough to conduct an international campaign necessary for success at Olympic level.
Sarah is doing well having won the recent Australian titles and the Asia Pacific championships last week.
Members have held fund raising functions in the past to support Olympians including Mark Turnbull, Tom King and Sarah in previous campaigns.
We are doing it again onTuesday 5 February at the Athenaeum Club and it would be great if you could attend. Kevin Sheedy will be the guest speaker.
Other guests will be Andrew Plympton, President of Yachting Australia, John Bertrand and Simon McKeon. It will be a great night of sailing stories and conviviality.
The donation is $600 or $1200 for a couple. The donation is tax deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation.
