It was fantastic weather out on the water on Saturday 12th April, the sun came out and the water sparkled as race management prepared the course for the days racing. Combined Divisions battled it out for the Worcester Cup, Almeida Cup and Gullet Cup. Dragons and Jubilees managed to get one race for the day in and the Etchells started the Port Phillip Regatta completing R1&2 - it was a long day in the end with the wind droping out halfway through the first race.
Sunday racing wasnt as kind to Sailors as Saturday with no sunshine or heat anywhere to be seen, on the positive - the wind certainly picked up. The Etchells completed the Port Phillip Regatta and the Girls battled it out in last WISC race of the season
Results:

RAMPALLION WINS WISC.
Congratulations to Monica Tonner and her crew aboard Rampallion for a series win in the WISC at SYC. As winners, they will receive the prestigious QYC trophy of a week’s charter in the Whitsundays.
Good breezes, overcast skies and the occasional drizzle did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the RBYC crews with boats well placed in Sunday’s races.
Race 8 VYC
1st Redline, 2nd Folie a Deux
Race 8 IRC
2nd Magazan, 3rd Under Capricorn
Race 9 VYC
1st Rampallion, 2nd Redline
Race 9 IRC
2nd Under Capricorn, 3rd Magazan
SYC held a wind up BBQ to end the season which was well supported by RBYC crews.
A big thank-you again to all boat owners and mentors whose generosity allowed the RBYC girls to participate.
On another note,
Patricia Laverty has been seen at the helm of Corella, a new addition to the Jubilee fleet. Patricia was placed third in the Saturday afternoon event, whilst some "girl power in the crew" - Tricia and Sally Williams, helped David Atkinson to 4th place in the Veterans event in the morning.
ATTENTION ALL BOAT OWNERS:
As a person that enjoys recreational boating, you may like to consider participating in important research into the introduction and spread of marine pests. So if you are a boat owner that operates your boat in both VICTORIA and NSW, you can help by answering a 10 minute anonymous survey being conducted by Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority and NSW Department of Primary Industries. The results from the survey will help determine how marine pests could be transported into and among NSW waterways. There is no information being collected that will enable you to be personally identified.
