RBYC Racing News

Hearne's Heroes

Last week saw a fleet of fourteen yachts enjoy superb sailing conditions. It was a fleet start and the starting line was jam packed at the pin end, 'Clipper III' was first over the line in a well judged start. As the race progressed around course four 'Avanti' led the way to take line honours.

'Andalucia' was first on handicap followed by 'Avanti' then 'Vintage Burgundy'.

This week will be a pursuit start, so don't forget to check your starting times! The forecast is looking good for a pleasant sail, especially for the lighter yachts.

Bureau of Meteorology Forecast - Wednesday Northeast to south easterly winds of 5 to 10 knots. Afternoon sea breezes of around 10 knots. Waves less than half a metre.

See you all out there.

Ingénue Trophy

The last race in the Ingénue Cruiser's PHD Trophy will be sailed this Saturday starting at 1005 hours straight after the Bushy Beavis IRC Race start.

This series is an opportunity for yachts that do not have an IRC or AMS rating to compete in a series featuring longer, interesting courses using their PHD handicaps.

Come and join the fun.

Last Saturday Racing

Last Saturday saw combined divisons battle it out for the top hat trophy, in the end B63 Schuss won by a corrected time of 2mins 7secs.

It was also the final in the Artemis summer pursuit series and the last race of the combined Saturday pursuit series for the 2007/2008 Season.
